These short stories by Maggie O’Farrell are linked by the theme of near-death experiences the author has experienced. You might think this sounds anxiety provoking and might not be a comfortable bedtime read, but I found the stories encouraged me to celebrate life and acknowledge the challenges it brings. They are a great collection of stories to use in teaching.  

I’d suggest buying and reading the whole book, but if you need encouragement here is a thought-provoking excerpt to get you thinking about what it might be like to look after a child with eczema.
