Skin (dermatology)

Here are some art resources to use for your personal learning or in a tutorial or teaching seminar.

photo of book by Maggie O'FarrellThese short stories by Maggie O’Farrell are linked by the theme of near-death experiences the author has experienced. You might think this sounds anxiety provoking and might not be a comfortable bedtime read, but I found the stories encouraged me to celebrate life and acknowledge the challenges it brings. They are a great collection of stories to use in teaching.

I’d suggest buying and reading the whole book, but if you need encouragement here is a thought-provoking excerpt to get you thinking about what it might be like to look after a child with eczema.

If you have the book turn to the chapter called ‘Daughter’ and read from the second paragraph on page 265 to the end of the second paragraph on page 276. The except starts with Maggie discovering she is pregnant after IVF.
